Studio course exploring form as it relates to materials and manufacturing processes used by industry. Planned and presented selected lessons, assisted students in project development, monitored student progress and supervised critiques. 

Design 167D: Product Development.
Assisted in curriculum application and instruction, planned and presented selected discussion topics, researched and organized selected field studies.

Design 190: History of 20 th Century Design.
Assisted in preparing and presenting lectures, researched topics and prepared slide presentations, delivered selected lectures, prepared and graded examinations and papers, and monitored student progress.

Prepared and presented lecture on the fundamentals of Scenic Design.

REPRESENTATIVE DESIGN EXPERIENCE

Design Director, 1999-2005
Duncan Design Inc., Santa Rosa, CA.
Client interface and strategic planning for fast-paced themed-environment studio.  Developed and implemented design programs;  project management including vendor sourcing, budget estimating and preparation, and supervision of field crews.  Prepared proposals and presentation boards;  fabricated exhibits, stage designs and displays for a wide variety of clients ranging from museums to malls, theatres to theme parks.

Visual Director, 1995-2001
Sonoma County Repertory Theatre, Santa Rosa, CA.

Designed  over 30 stage sets for productions in both proscenium and in-the-round stages, as well as large scale productions for outdoor summer Shakespeare festival.  Collaborated with Directors and other artistic staff; coordinated and scheduled fabrication of sets and props;  developed and implemented lighting plans;  worked with the Executive Director in developing and implementing cohesive graphics program as it relates to print material and events;  curated and managed gallery exhibition space. 

Design Director / Principal, 1991-1998
Hand Language Design, Sebastopol, CA.
Owned and managed product design studio.  Researched and developed home furnishing products for the wholesale trade;  developed production schedules; trained and supervised employees;  developed and implemented marketing plans and participated in industry trade shows.  My designs were represented in over 200 outlets nationwide.
